About the Exhibition

“Mementos of the Mind” moves beyond traditional landscape painting to explore the internal “landscapes” of memory, emotion, and the human spirit.

Nguyen Hung Trinh is a self-taught master from Ho Chi Minh City. His style is famously raw, often using a “trowel and finger” technique to build intense, layered textures. Trinh’s work is characterized by its deep emotional resonance, featuring distorted figures and faces that act as windows into the soul. This exhibition features Trinh’s work along with other pieces from Asia curated from the private collection of Richard L. Waldron.
