This collection offers a rare glimpse into the expressive\, visceral world of contemporary Vietnamese art. \nJoin us for the opening reception as part of Thomaston’s First Friday celebrations! \nEvent Details\n🗓️ Date: Friday\, March 6\, 2026 \n🕒 Reception: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM \n🎟️ Admission: This event is open to the public! No purchase or ID is required to enter the gallery space. We are proud to be child-friendly for this event; guests 21 and under are welcome when accompanied by an adult. \n\nAbout the Exhibition\n“Mementos of the Mind” moves beyond traditional landscape painting to explore the internal “landscapes” of memory\, emotion\, and the human spirit. \nNguyen Hung Trinh is a self-taught master from Ho Chi Minh City. His style is famously raw\, often using a “trowel and finger” technique to build intense\, layered textures. Trinh’s work is characterized by its deep emotional resonance\, featuring distorted figures and faces that act as windows into the soul. This exhibition features Trinh’s work along with other pieces from Asia curated from the private collection of Richard L. Waldron.
