Maine has a long history of sun-grown cannabis, and we’re proud to carry that forward. At Atlantic Farms, we cultivate using a mix of light deprivation greenhouses and full-term outdoor fields, relying on the sun whenever possible. It’s a growing method that fits our climate, our values, and the kind of cannabis we enjoy ourselves.
We grow in aerated living soil, using organic-based nutrients and hands-on care throughout each grow. This method supports healthy root systems, encourages terpene expression, and reflects our commitment to producing clean, high-quality cannabis.
With each new greenhouse cycle, we also reserve space for a small test bed of new genetics. These trial runs help us evaluate how different cultivars perform under real seasonal conditions- from growth structure and yield to pest resistance, terpene content, and resin quality.
By observing how each variety responds throughout the year, we can decide when and how to bring it into full production- whether that’s for whole flower, fresh frozen, or other post-harvest uses. This process keeps our in-house lineup fresh, consistent, and well-suited to Maine’s unique growing windows.
